Project: Outdoor Storage, Woodlanders Nursery

This outdoor storage project was designed with one simple aim: to bring clarity and order to a busy space. The brief was to create a series of robust, weatherproof storage bays – somewhere to safely tuck away the toys, tools, and play equipment.

Working closely with the staff, I designed a modular structure made entirely from pressure-treated timber, chosen for its durability and ability to stand up to the changeable Devon weather. The construction includes open compartments of varying sizes, with slatted bases to allow for drainage and airflow, and a gently sloped roof for rain run-off.

The result is a row of hardworking bays – practical without being imposing, and large enough to house everything from trikes and balls to planting trays and outdoor gear.

This project is a small but satisfying example of how thoughtful, well-made solutions can quietly transform everyday spaces.
